Volunteers prepare meals four times per year, for approximately 200 folks, and deliver them to the Bergen County shelter in Hackensack. All food is prepared at home and brought to the shelter. Although we currently only cook and deliver, five volunteers may now serve in person at each dinner. Volunteers are reimbursed for their expenses as requested. Dates for volunteering in 2025 are March 4, May 6, August 19, and October 28. For more information or to volunteer, contact Patti Siegel, pjjs1@optonline.net.
Read a book to HIPPY kids at their Zoom Family Events! Held each month during the school year the children ages 3 - 5 will be given a book plus all the supplies needed for their Zoom arts and crafts activities. Contact Joan Schnuer at polten@optonline.net to volunteer. HIPPY means Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters. Being part of HIPPY teaches parents to be their children's first teachers!

Last September the NCJW BCS KNIT WITS partnered with the Temple Sinai Knitting Circle for weekly knitting sessions. Our knitting donation program with BVMI was presented and the Sinai knitters became eager participants in the project. As a result, the Sinai Knitting Circle recently donated a large bag of scarves and hats to Knit Wits for distribution to BVMI. This joint effort will be ongoing.
