Tisha B’Av: Jews Say #CloseTheCamps

NCJW and Jewish partners across the country are organizing events on Tisha B’Av to #CloseTheCamps.

Tisha B’av, a Jewish day of mourning, commemorates the destruction of the Temples in Jerusalem. On this saddest day on the Jewish calendar, Jews will mourn and resist the policies of our current government that endanger, imprison, and deport refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants seeking safety. We cannot ignore the cries of those whose tragedy is right before us.

If it is in line with your Jewish practice, you may wish to attend a Collaborative Observance on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 10 AM at the Peter Rodino Federal Building, 972 Broad Street in Newark.

For additional information about this and other observances throughout the New York metropolitan area, visit www.truah.org and click on Tisha B’Av: Jews Say #CloseTheCamps
