SWIM-IN CELEBRATED ITS 42nd ANNIVERSARY

On May 20th the MS Swim-In Program, sponsored by National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section and the NJ Multiple Sclerosis Society, celebrated its 42nd anniversary with a luncheon at the Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ.  Founded by Bergen County Section under the leadership of physical therapist and Section member Ruth Cowan, the Swim-In Program has provided continuous aquatic therapy to people with MS and takes place at the JCC in Tenafly.  The MS Swim-In Program, held on Wednesday afternoons, is the only one in New Jersey staffed entirely by trained volunteers provided through the Bergen County Section of NCJW.  Volunteers who like to swim and those who want to help in the locker room are invited to call Ina Miller-Silverstein, 201-836-6562, inams98@yahoo.com, or Roxanne Reff, 201-944-7581, rkreff@yahoo.com. A training session is always given before volunteers begin their participation.
