The Global Refugee Crisis: Why People Leave

What is happening that so many people are fleeing their homelands for better conditions in strange new lands? Many times they are going to countries that are so different in environmental conditions, culture, and work opportunities from their own. They are risking everything . . . why?

Dr. Joseph Chuman, leader of Ethical Culture in Teaneck and Professor of Human Rights at Columbia University, will share his insights about this growing and frightening situation. He will also tell us about his involvement with the Northern New Jersey Sanctuary for Political Asylum.

Put this date on your calendar!  There will be light refreshments. Charge is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
