SAMMIE MOSHENBERG ENTERTAINED, INSPIRED AND INFORMED OUR GENERAL MEETING AUDIENCE

Being hauled off to jail in a paddy wagon for illegally rallying in support of immigration reform, standing with Presidents at bill signings, being on the White House’s A-list for invitations to Hanukkah parties (except when George W. Bush was in office) were typical happenings in the eventful career of Sammie Moshenberg.

To a large, engrossed audience of members and friends at our General Meeting on Tuesday April 29, 2014 at Temple Emeth in Teaneck, Sammie spoke passionately and entertainingly about life as NCJW’s director of Washington operations. She emphasized how vital the work of NCJW is in making much needed changes in our society. She effusively commended Bergen County Section for its outstanding leadership in advocacy, education, and grassroots community services support, while emphasizing that fund-raising is another vital advocacy tool, to support these endeavors. Interspersed with amusing and thought-provoking anecdotes, she informed and inspired us on a myriad of topics including Judicial Nominations, Immigration Reform, Reproductive Justice, and Voter Registration.

Following her presentation, we gathered with her to celebrate her illustrious career and to wish her a very Happy Retirement from NCJW and good luck in her future consulting career. We will miss her very much.

Cheers Sammie
