Our annual Hanukkah Party for the residents of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh on December 3rd was a big success and enjoyed by all. An elegant dinner with potato latkes as an appetizer was served and Rabbi Feld began the evening by lighting the Hanukkah candles.  To add to the festivities Susan Laskin, Carol Silverman Kurtz and her talented daughter Samantha Kurtz regaled the attendees with numerous holiday songs and golden oldies. Each resident received a Hanukkah gift from NCJW-BCS which was a pocket size magnifier which also had a light.  They were most generously donated by Kenny Sarfin of  “Books and Greetings” in Northvale, NJ.  Many thanks to all the NCJW BCS members who came to serve and socialize with the residents to make this evening a unique and rewarding experience. Kudos to the Rockleigh Staff for their assistance and planning.

Message from Tracey Couliboly, Director of Recreation, Jewish Home at Rockleigh, December 5, 2013 to Roberta Lew of NCJW BCS

Morning Roberta,

On behalf of the residents, their families and the staff at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to you and the National Council of Jewish Women for sponsoring the Annual Chanukah Elegant Dining program here at the home. Some of our Residents do not have family or get frequent visits, and the outpouring affection that they receive from your members gets them through the Holiday season with ease. We wish you and your husband, Phyllis Schriger, Elaine Pollack, Nanette Malick, Ruth Dinkes, Edie Kaplan, Marlene Furer, Fran Einiger, Roz Altman, Peggy Kabakow, Roxanne Reff & her husband, Susan Laskin all the best life has to offer. As for Carol Silverman Kurtz and her daughter Samantha, they are truly blessed. They have amazing voices and we are grateful that they continue to share their gift with our residents and staff.

Happy Chanukah. Happy Holiday, Tracey
