In March 2013, NCJW BCS Awarded Grant to Advance Economic and Gender Equality in IsraelTo quote Susan Levine, immediate past co-Chair of NCJW’s Israel Granting Committee, “It is no secret the Bergen County Section has been a strong, passionate and long standing supporter of NCJW’s Israel Granting Program. And, may I say, that support is and continues to be deeply appreciated.” Israel Granting Program Yad B’ Yad, NCJW’s Initiative to Nurture Knowledge, is a grant program supporting grassroots organizations serving at-risk children and their families in Israel. Launched in 1998, the Yad B’ Yad program has funded hundreds of grants since its inception in order to foster positive and innovative learning environments for individuals of all backgrounds. Women to Women, NCJW’s Empowerment Initiative, is a grant program supporting grassroots organizations and efforts that aim to empower women in Israel. These projects address Israeli women’s rights and well-being in areas like economics, politics, education, domestic violence, and social justice. Bergen County Section participates in the Israel Granting Program annually. For 2013, NCJW Bergen County Section contributed $5,000 to the WePower-Yedid , ADVA Center, The Israel Gay Youth Organization (IGY), Israel Hofshit (Israel BEFREE), The Jewish Women’s Collaborative International Fund (JWCIF), The NCJW Women Studies Forum at Tel Aviv University, Turning the Tables. |
