FROM PARKLAND TO PORTLAND, FAMILIES TURN GRIEF INTO ACTION

National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section was a proud co-sponsor of 101 Seconds, a film on the impact of gun violence, at last weekend’s Teaneck International Film Festival. Numerous NCJW BCS members listened attentively (see photos in link) to the poignant remarks of a Parkland survivor and his dad, the daughter of a hospice nurse murdered at the Clackamas Mall in Oregon, and a representative of the Brady campaign.  All of the speakers urged the audience to continue to press for sensible gun legislation. State Senator Loretta Weinberg and others applauded the young people who have taken up the cause and expressed optimism at their continued engagement.
