AUSTIN TICHENOR WOWS NCJW BCS AUDIENCEAUSTIN’S SPEECH IS ONLINE If you weren’t there or if you want to enjoy Austin’s speech again, you can find it here – click on: AUSTIN TICHENOR BRINGS THE POWER OF COMEDY TO NCJW. At our General Meeting on March 17, 2015, Austin Tichenor’s long-time friend and former artist manager, NCJW BCS life member Neil Benson, introduced our guest speaker to a packed audience. Neil gave an amusing overview of Austin’s multi-faceted career on both sides of the Atlantic as playwright, actor, director, and co-Managing Partner of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, and how he, strangely, gave up the delights of his home town Los Angeles for shoveling snow in Chicago. With the aid of hilarious ditties on his trusty ukulele and electronic keyboard, Austin’s all-embracing topic was “The Power of Comedy and Other Life-Affirming Matters”, in which he seemed to cover the entire history of comedy in less than an hour, invoking his and the work of other beloved comic entertainers and anecdotes from his amazing life as a writer/actor/performer/producer/director and one third of the Reduced Shakespeare Company. He made clear to us how comedy and laughter enhance life, through good times and bad. For more about Austin, click on our website page: BLOW AWAY THE WINTER’S BLUES WITH AUSTIN TICHENOR.
