ANNOUNCING THE 2020 ISRAEL GRANTING PROGRAM RECIPIENTS

We thought you would be interested in reading the latest information from our National Office about NCJW’s Israel Granting Program.

Through the Israel Granting Program, to which Bergen County Section contributes, NCJW is a leader of women’s and gender rights in Israel by bringing our unique Jewish women’s progressive approach to advancing social justice and gender equality.

Each year, the National Council of Jewish Women’s Israel Granting Program (IGP) supports nonprofit organizations throughout Israel that improve the lives of women, children, and families. Throughout Israel and around the world, the spread of Covid-19 and the necessary precautions to reduce the spread has had an enormous negative impact on these organizations and their ability to continue to provide critical services.

At risk children lack access to critical services. Domestic violence is surging as people are forced to stay in close proximity with their abusers. Domestic workers are having a difficult time obtaining food, medicine, and essential supplies.

The organizations that are part of IGP are working overtime to ensure that individuals have access to domestic violence hotlines, legal support, basic food and supplies, and many other essential programs.

We are grateful to each of you, individuals and NCJW sections who’ve contributed to this program allowing us to distribute $100,000 to the following grantees to advance their work:
